Mike represents landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating commercial real estate leases for retail, office, medical, industrial and restaurant spaces, and in other landlord/tenant issues. Additionally, his practice includes all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions, financing and development. Mike also has extensive experience working with commercial real estate clients buying and selling businesses.
Prior to establishing the Holiday Law Firm P.C., Mike served as general counsel to a real estate developer, where he prepared and evaluated documentation used in the acquisition, development, construction and eventual marketing of condominiums in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Mike also acted as an in-house commercial real estate lawyer and general corporate attorney for The TJX Companies, Inc. where, as a member of senior management’s team approach to transactions, he developed policies and strategies for a subsidiary of TJX in its retail store operations, and negotiated and structured transactions, for the subsidiary’s corporate departments with attention to follow through and detail.
Over his seven plus years as in-house legal counsel, he developed in-depth experience in multi-jurisdictional commercial retail leasing on both Landlord and Tenant forms, in land acquisitions and dispositions, in lease terminations, in the development, construction and conveyancing of real estate, and in the negotiation of commercial contracts.
Mike sits on the Leasing Committee, the Commercial Real Estate Financing Committee and the Condominium Committee of the Real Estate Bar Association of Massachusetts (REBA), and has lectured at numerous real estate seminars for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE). He is also a member of the New England Corporate Counsel Association (NECCA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and National Retail Tenants Association (NRTA).
